Historic Building Restoration Specialist

Job Responsibilities

  • General Masonry Restoration – Tuckpointing, bricklaying, stone repair, and surface cleaning to maintain structural integrity.
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication – Crafting and restoring architectural metal elements such as cornices, capitals, brackets, and standing seam panels, including soldering and occasional welding.
  • Carpentry & Millwork – Repairing and replicating historic wood features, including cabinetry, doors, windows, trim, and moldings.
  • Painting & Plaster Restoration – Interior and exterior painting, plaster installation, and repairs to match historic finishes.
  • Historic Roofing – Restoring and installing slate, standing seam, and clay tile roofing systems.
  • Equipment Operation – Using specialized tools such as CNC machines, Auto Brakes, Press Brakes, Metal Shears, and Belt Sanders for precision restoration work.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must pass a standard drug test
  • Willing to travel for work (Ohio and occasional bordering states, with hotel provided)
  • Comfortable working at heights, including lifts, scaffolding, and rooftops.
  • Experience in historic restoration, construction, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay with prevailing wage opportunities
  • Standard schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday).
  • Occasionally we work on Fridays to make up rain days / extra work.
  • We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Benefits available after 90 days of full-time employment:
